A collective creation for the Grand Ducal Couple

News Published on 29.06.2026

On the occasion of the visit of Their Royal Highnesses Grand Duke Guillaume and Grand Duchess Stéphanie to Differdange, as part of the festivities held on the eve of National Day, the City of Differdange wished to present the Grand Ducal Couple with a gift created with the contribution of several residents of the 1535° Creative Hub.

Conceived as a collaborative creation, this project highlights not only the know-how present within the Hub, but also the connections and synergies that continue to develop between its residents. Beyond the object itself, the gift reflects a shared creative process and a spirit of collaboration.

At the heart of the gift is an embroidery created by Maison Aimard, depicting the coat of arms of the City of Differdange. Through the precision of the gesture, the choice of materials and the finesse of its execution, this piece reflects both the city’s identity and the artisanal know-how found within the 1535° Creative Hub community.

Alfama Creative Studio designed the presentation of the object through a compartmentalised box containing the framed embroidery and a book. The studio also created the binding of the book, which documents the different stages of the project’s creation. The book brings together a visual record of the process, accompanied by a series of photographs by Luisa Maria Stagno Photography, allowing the work to be followed from the first gestures through to the final presentation.

This creation reflects the richness of the skills present at the 1535° Creative Hub and the willingness of its residents to come together around a shared project. It also embodies a particular attention to craftsmanship, transmission and the symbolic value of an object conceived for this official occasion.

The 1535° Creative Hub, the residents involved and the City of Differdange are pleased to have contributed to this creation, which represents local know-how, the collaborative spirit of the Hub and Differdange’s strong connection to its creative community.

Through this gesture, the City of Differdange wished to express its gratitude to Their Royal Highnesses for their visit and to offer them a meaningful creation, reflecting the city’s identity, local craftsmanship and the collaborative spirit that drives the 1535° Creative Hub.
